We have already informed you that ATOMS FOR PEACE will perform in Poznań on July 20, as the closing act for this year's Malta Festival Poznań. The supergroup is made up of Radiohead's frontman, Thom Yorke, and extraordinary bass player of Red Hot Chili Peppers - Flea. There is more good news to come, however. The support for Atoms for Peace will be, for the first time in Poland, American singer, multi-intstrumentalist and composer Chan Marshall performing as Cat Power.

Cat Power is counted among the most interesting artists in American music. It is on the one hand easy to recognise her characteristic, hoarse voice and minimal style, but on the other - it is difficult to assign only one musical style to her. Marshall is particularly open, receptive and eclectic as regards both her interests, inspirations and creations. Her most recent record, Sun, presented to the audience (six years after her last original record) in September of 2012 is a perfect example of this variety. On the record, there are pared-down guitar chords, provocative vocals, piano loops and almost dance-like electronic rhythms. Songs in the style of alternative rock, trance hip-hop and club music are accompanied by nostalgic compositions which seem like epic stories.

Marshall's creations are a mirror of her fascinating personality as they reflect intensive and often extreme emotions, her distance to herself, destructive tendencies and simultaneous amazing strength, independence and vitality. From time to time, the artist disappears only to return with fresh strength. She makes records with Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithfull believes Cat to be her successor, and Thom Yorke does not hide the fact that he is fascinated by her music. We will soon experience her magnetic effect on the audience during the concert at the Malta Festival. It is good to remember that we will be able to see her show with tickets for Atoms for Peace.
