  • The show is a combination of the film The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie by Luis Buñuel, Three monologues by Dario Fo and Franca Rame and the fragments of the drama Śmierć człowieka-wiewiórki by Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, one of the most frequently awarded and staged Polish playwrights. The director uses this material to diagnose contemporary society. Why is the language of offers, compliments and transactions so dangerous? Where do the borders of exclusions run? Who is nowadays deprived of voice? Liber advances a thesis that surrealism comes ever closer to reality and the most hazardous terrorism forms in areas which are marginalized. Present-day aristocracy - drowning in lies and communication anachronisms - is not able to talk about contemporary world. Does separation from community pose the threat of a new, bloody revolution?

  • Marcin Liber is a director, stage designer and scriptwriter. He is interested in the theatre which is responsive to the reality and constitutes an artistic commentary to it, especially immersed in memory and history. The beginning of his theatrical work is linked to Poznań independent stage. For a few years he has been active in Teatr Biuro Podróży, afterwards together with Wojciech Wiński, ran the group Usta-Usta. He also cooperated with Polski Teatr Tańca in Poznań and numerous other theatres in Poland. He directed shows in the Warsaw Rising Museum in Warsaw twice. He received the “Laur Konrada” award - one of the most important theatre awards in Poland (in 2012 the award for the “III Furie” show from Teatr im. Heleny Modrzejewskiej in Legnica).
