You will not meet Marek Dyjak in big concert halls. The artist calls himself a “bar musician” but according to critics he is “the most authentic voice on the Polish music scene”, the voice on the borderline of desperation, yell and despair. His strength lies in an honest and uncompromising nature. The artist does not try to swim against the tide at all costs, neither does he follow the mainstream. His new album Kobiety is composed of 11 most beautiful pieces by the greatest Polish singers and lyricists, including Agnieszka Osiecka, Katarzyna Nosowska, Edyta Bartosiewicz, Stanisława Celińska, Katarzyna Groniec and Magda Umer. As he says about the project: “I have always subconsciously striven for a confrontation with the sensitivity of feminine world, it is obvious that energy originates from potential difference. Thus, the aesthetics of feminine beauty confronted with me – quivering and coarse – can create a mixture not so much explosive as peculiar, because my whole artistic work was an attempt to express energy which is born when feminine and masculine personalities meet head-on. I truly believe that in this way I will pay tribute not only to the great artists whose output I wish to draw from, but to all ladies of this world...”.
